Trail running

One of my biggest passions in live, next to my husband Matthew, is running. In 2010 I ran the New York Marathon (aprox 3:28:00). Since then, the running bug has never really let go of me. After running many road competitions, in 2021, I started training for my first mountain run. On this page I’ll regularly post about my running adventures.

#trailrunner

Is it allowed to dream out loud? My ambition is to once run the Ultra Marathon du Mont Blanc (UTMB). But before I can even think about taking up this challenge I have set more realistic short term goals.

07/2022: Half Marathon du Grand Ballon
08/2022: Half Marathon Faroe Islands (Atjan Wild Islands Festival)
12/2022: Valencia Marathon

In 2023 I’ll try to enter the Marathon du Mont Blanc… Fingers crossed I get through the draw.

Meet the Kevin VDS team

It sounds contradictory, but mountain and trail running is not something you do on your own. Meet my support team:

David D’hooge is my favourite endurance coach. I can always count on him for making my training schemes and motivational support.
John Rooms (Footrooms) is not only my running technique coach helping me to get more efficient, but also a true friend for many years.
Tom Mertens (Kineworks) is without any doubt the best (Olympic) physiotherapist I ever worked with. He keeps me away from injury and helps me build muscle power and strength.
Jany Tzakos is a truly remarkable osteopath who keeps my body in balance. I can always count on him for even the most challenging issues.
Jef Vangeel is my go-to sport masseur to restore my legs after a heavy training period or race.
